- I’m in the minority, but I like the D-backs deal for Shelby Miller. From June 8 to Aug 16, Miller made 13 starts and was 0-7, the Braves were 2-11, and Miller had a 2.90 ERA. He’s a great #2 starter, behind Zack Greinke. A prospect remains suspect until he prospers in the bigs.

- 100 mph is a magic number for pitches, but it should be noted that last season There are only two players with at least 25 homers each of the last five seasons: Jose Bautista and Adam Jones. Bautista is the only one each of the last six years.*
- The Kansas City-Houston postseason rivalry continues to fall in the KC direction: the Chiefs whomped the Texans, 30-0, and the Royals topped the Astros, three games to two.
